SCRIPTURES FROM THE BIBLE

One day while I was baking communion bread I noticed that all the ingredients I was using led me to think of Christ. God’s Spirit gently guided me to think about Jesus with every ingredient. I grabbed a pen and wrote down the ingredients and searched for the Scriptures. Every time I bake the bread, I think of Him and how He is the WORD made flesh that dwelt among us. I hope these verses bless you as much as they blessed me that morning.

Wheat Kernels • John 12:24

“Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies it remains by itself alone; but if it dies it produces much fruit.”

If any man is thirsty, let him come to ME and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, “From his inmost being shall flow rivers of living water.”

Water • John 7:37

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has lost its flavor how can it be made salty again? It is good for nothing anymore except to be thrown out and trampled under the feet of men.”

— SALT • Matthew 5:13

  • How good and pleasant when brothers live together in unity. It is like precious oil poured on the head...running down the beard.

    Oil • Psalm 133:2

  • You annoint my head with oil. my cup overflows.

    Oil • Psalm 23

Honey • Psalm 19:9-10

“The ordinances of the lord are sure and altogether righteous. they are more precious than gold…they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.”

As you take the bread into your body, do not fail to take into your heart all the goodness that our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ gives you through His gracious gift of salvation.
